Seamus Smyth is looking for sponsorship for his climate change awareness musical “Save Our Ice”

Save Our Ice – During lockdown, An Grianan Theatre, Letterkenny, Donegal, https://angrianan.com/ produced a one-act climate musical of mine for radio. This is it: https://youtu.be/kOniomZI2uc

It was then picked up by Citizens Climate Lobby https://citizensclimatelobby.org/about-ccl/team/ and played across 74 countries. I have now written it into a full-length 3-act musical and hope to bring it to the stage. Please see the mock shoutout: https://youtu.be/JTWI1zbph8k
Bob Geldof & Bono are characters in the piece. They offer solutions which have never been tried before. The world is crying out for a solution to the crisis.

This musical is a fun piece with a plot, crackpot bad guys and evil alien monsters no James Bond Movie could ever dream up. But that’s only to make it a good night’s entertainment.

Our message is simple: Sir David Attenborough calls for thinking outside the box. We hear him. You don’t get further outside than this!
He warns: “We now have a few short years during which we can still make a choice, where just enough remains of the natural world for it to recover. This starts and ends with us”. We hear him.

Ours is the only solution that will fix the crisis in Sir David’s timeframe.
1) The leader of Band Aid enlisted the aid of global superstars and 2 billion citizens to save Africa from famine. With no internet back then.
2) He will, live from the stage of the Gaiety in Ireland, call upon today’s global superstars, and billions more citizens, courtesy of today’s internet, including live on Youtube, to SAVE THE WORLD.
3) He will explain to them, and you, how he will do it. His plan will make you sigh the biggest sigh of relief in your life.
4) You won’t get an easier answer than this.
5) But – remember! – it won’t work without you!
6) And guess what? It doesn’t even mention climate change. Not a word about car fuel or flying off on holiday or any of that stuff.
Repeat: Band AID was the most successful campaign in the history of the planet. We are using its blueprint to make it work for the climate crisis. We have added Accom’s Razor to it: The simplest solution is the best. It is now in lockstep with the solution Sir David seeks. The detail is in the script. Don’t miss it!

Any sponsors with green credentials will be proud to join us on stage and receive a short video of themselves having supper with the cast and celebrities after the show!

Today – climate change tops everything!
